Since the age of eight, Hanns-Josef Ortheil received writing and language lessons from his parents. They were afraid that after years of being mute, he would not be able to learn to speak and write properly. The writing school established by his parents did not follow any textbooks or other templates. It developed spontaneously day by day from the visual and linguistic material that the surrounding environment offered. Over the years, the boy took charge himself.
