When was the last time you saw the stars? In winter, Norway is shrouded in darkness. But is that really the case? Two-thirds of Norwegians, as well as 80 percent of people in North America, can no longer see the Milky Way at night. Streetlights, neon lights, and screens illuminate the sky, making it impossible to recognize anything in the night sky. As long as she can remember, Sigri Sandberg has been afraid of the dark. In the middle of winter, she embarks on a journey to the mountains alone to experience and understand what lies behind her fear. On her journey, she introduces us to a remarkable woman: Christiane Ritter, who spent an entire winter in a trapper's cabin in Spitsbergen in 1934.
