It is winter in Innsbruck. A homeless man takes refuge in a long-abandoned apartment on the edge of the forest. In the bedroom, he discovers a corpse that has remained undiscovered for twenty years. A perfect opportunity for press photographer David Bronski. Together with his journalist colleague Svenja Spielmann, he is tasked with reporting from the crime scene and researching the story of the deceased. However, he keeps it to himself that this case, beyond its sensational aspects, also has something to do with him. Ever since he can remember, Bronski has been photographing misfortune. He focuses on the darkness in the world. Wherever people die, he appears. He captures the calamity, fascinated by the silence of death. It is like an addiction. Bronski is closer to death than anything else; he lives only for his work and his secret passion. Photography, in analog form. For this, he retreats to his darkroom.
