From Baghdad to Berlin: The journey of a young Arab through a world losing its innocence. Baghdad in the 1930s. The young Arab Anwar understands nothing of the political turmoil of his time. He dreams of beautiful houses, distant travels, and perhaps a little of his Jewish friend's sister. He dreams of becoming a "somebody." But then World War II breaks out, and Anwar falls under the influence of the "Black Shirts," the fascist youth organization in Iraq.
