Bart is a journalist, loves cycling, and is almost fifty when his childhood friends André, Joost, and David unexpectedly re-enter his life. With them comes the summer of 1982, a summer in which they were all in love with the beautiful Laura, a summer of intense emotions and a tragic accident on Mont Ventoux. The friends were eighteen when they rode up the legendary stage of the Tour de France as a group of five and returned as four, as their dreams shattered in an instant. Laura, who was with them in Provence, vanished without a trace. Thirty years later, in the summer of 2010, Laura wants to reunite with the four men at Ventoux. She wants to talk about what really happened back then. The friends accept her invitation: bicycles on the roof of the car, their gear in the trailer, and plenty of questions in the back seat.
