1919. The nightmare of the First World War is finally over, and the battered France is desperately trying to return to normalcy. However, the numerous soldiers returning from the battlefields often prove to be more of a hindrance. This is also the case for Albert and Édouard, one severely traumatized and the other horrifically disfigured. So they devise a daring plan to take revenge on the patriotic hypocrites. No one shall escape unscathed. Especially not Officer Pradelle, the man whose greed for power almost cost Albert his life and who has now mutated into a particularly cynical war profiteer.
