With this book, the authors provide a solid education in a fundamental area of accounting. They connect theoretical concepts with largely a single practical example and corresponding exercises. Since 2004, the book has been successfully used in academic teaching with its exercise material and has been continuously developed since then. The current edition can once again be described as "student-tested" concerning the content of previous editions. All suggestions from instructors and students have been incorporated into the text and the questions and exercises.
