Product details

Before I began revising my 'Seven Nights', I watched the film 'Snow on Kilimanjaro' for the first time in fifty years, which inspired me to write this novel back in 1977. However, I only managed to get through the first thirty minutes. I turned it off because I found the film unbearably cheesy. Just as one cannot step into the same river twice, one cannot watch the same film twice. The film, of course, remains the same, but I have changed. Panta Rhei. Everything flows. And from a very young, carefree writer, I have become an old one who believes he knows better than his younger colleague - and probably is right. Undoubtedly, youthful carefree attitude is a significant advantage when starting to write. If one were to recognize their fallibility in its entirety right away, they would likely stop writing immediately. The journey from imperfection to perfection is so vast that it can hardly ever be completed. Just as it is the privilege of the young to begin writing despite their imperfections, it is the privilege of the old to stop again despite their significantly reduced imperfections. Sometimes they do it voluntarily, but sometimes they do not. Death does not concern itself with perfections and imperfections. Death is always perfect.
