Coming from a small background and with an aborted study in his luggage, Wolfgang Welt enters the pop machinery as a music journalist at the beginning of the eighties. New Wave, Neue Deutsche Welle, Marabo, Sounds, Musik Express, Rockpalast, Herbert Grönemeyer, Dallas, women's stories, being a DJ, and Buddy Holly are the side effects of a short, steep career in the scene. He ends up in madness and the world is arrested and put into a psychiatric ward. Halfway normal again, he writes three autobiographical novels at large intervals, which are presented here together, the third as a first publication. In 2002, he receives a scholarship from the Hermann Lenz Foundation. For many years, he has worked as a night porter in the Schauspielhaus in his hometown of Bochum and regularly listens to WDR 4. Wolfgang Welt, born in Bochum in 1952, lives there in his parents' house in the miners' housing estate.
