Budo pedagogy addresses the struggle with partners and oneself based on body, movement, sports, and play, as well as experience, reflection, ritual, and etiquette. Traditional Eastern martial arts such as Aikido, Judo, Karate, Kempo, Taekwondo, or Kung Fu, which in their original training of body and mind go far beyond mere combat sports with their (social) educational, psychological, and spiritual aspirations, can, when applied correctly, develop an enormous potential for personal development. Budo pedagogy, as a new, scientifically grounded, and proven method, finds successful application in youth work, schools, educational institutions, and correctional facilities, as well as in child and adolescent psychiatry, special education, social and psychotherapy, or in team coaching.
