The old woodcarver Hannes lives in seclusion in a large house. Since the death of his wife, he has hardly worked at all. There is only one project he wants to finish - the figure of Mensch Keun. Although Hannes is often alone, he is not lonely. The home care nurses visit him regularly, and his daughter plans to move in with him soon to prevent his relocation to a nursing home. But then everything changes. Hannes, the artist, has always been different from others, and this becomes his downfall. The doctor, community representative, and police officer believe he is confused and therefore dangerous, so they take him to the clinic. But Hannes is stronger. Peter Weibel, referencing a real case in his book, tells in a harsh and clear language about the inhumane treatment of elderly people and their resistance against it.
