In addition to the basic vocabulary, important technical terms are included, for example from the fields of politics, economics, technology, art, and sports, as well as from communication, education, and healthcare, the natural and social sciences, and the religions native to India. Numerals, days of the week, and month names, the Indian calendar, currency units, and measures of length, weight, and area are summarized in tables in the appendix. The dictionary meets the needs of both German and Hindi-speaking users. All Hindi entries and their German equivalents, including idiomatic expressions, are provided with grammatical information. Special attention is given to differing sentence constructions and the valency of verbs.
