Concept
"Nihon no ima" is a teaching resource for the transition from elementary to middle school. The 10 lessons cover a variety of topics related to Japanese history, culture, and society, providing insights into contemporary Japanese life. Through realistic language use tasks, communicative competence can be practiced and expanded.

Varied exercises with questions on text comprehension, grammar exercises, essay topics, as well as translation and listening comprehension tasks offer extensive opportunities for applying and deepening what has been learned.

The accompanying audio CD features listening comprehension exercises as well as the lesson texts and dialogues. With the model solutions and translations of the lesson texts and dialogues included in the appendix, "Nihon no ima" is suitable for both classroom use and self-study. Additionally, there is the option to email essays to the author Yasuko Sakai for correction.
