While there are many good works on the theory of electrical machines, only a few books have been published on the sizing and calculation of these machines. In the past, for example, in Volume III of the book series "The Electrical Machines" by L. W. Schitz, or more recently in Nurnberg's book "The Asynchronous Machine," the process of preliminary calculations can be closely followed through thoroughly worked-out examples. The reluctance to publish such books is likely due to the fact that providing certain sizing values, calculation methods, or simplified equations for preliminary calculations entails a certain risk, even if their practical applicability has been proven. This book presents such formulas for preliminary calculations, taking into account the scope of the book.
