The dynamic illustrations come from the sharp pen of Luc Mazel, while the humorous texts and imaginative scenarios are drawn from the vast creative reservoir of Raoul Cauvin. Both would go on to create many wonderful series for the comic world. Calebasse, the impetuous musketeer of the king, and his loud neighing, eager, and especially very vengeful mare Caline quickly found their readership in Belgium, France, and Germany.
