Social Pedagogical Family Assistance (SPFH) is a youth welfare service that faces the significant challenge of collaboratively finding solutions to problems at various levels for the entire family. In addition to support with practical life tasks, improving material conditions, and promoting external contacts, this also includes working on family dynamics. While a life-world-oriented social pedagogical approach demonstrates its strengths in the aforementioned tasks through the emphasis on joint activities and shared daily life, a family therapeutic approach offers the opportunity to address family dynamic aspects in a more differentiated manner. Therapeutic additional qualifications have contributed to the fact that in everyday family assistance, both approaches are sometimes combined.
