In sexual therapy work with women, lack of sexual desire is one of the most common issues. This book provides an appropriate space for the various facets of female eroticism as they become visible in therapy. The first part addresses how women can resourcefully navigate the contradictory situation of wanting to want sex but lacking desire or not knowing what they might want. Understanding lack of desire as a form of competence is one of the central messages of the book. Other topics include vaginismus, orgasm disorders, and the role of fantasies in therapy as a means to access the often ambivalent experience of eroticism. The second part of the book focuses on the body, exploring aspects of the relationship with one's own gender, as well as sexual and reproductive functions.
