How can children be accompanied and supported in their educational processes? This fundamental and current question in educational science and counseling was addressed by a research team from the University of Cologne and TH Cologne. One possible answer is provided by Marte Meo: a practice-oriented, video-based counseling model that postulates five basic elements for supportive interaction: "Perceiving," "Confirming," "Naming," "Taking Turns," and "Guiding and Leading." In the KiBibe project "Accompanying Children in Their Education," everyday educational situations in daycare centers were filmed and analyzed in relation to the interaction elements. This made educational processes visible and describable, allowing educational professionals to be further professionalized through counseling in supporting children's educational processes.
