Unlike in the past, older people today more frequently and with greater ease seek therapy and counseling. Naturally, different topics are at the forefront here compared to younger clients. The contributions in this volume are based on the understanding that learning, growth, and change are still possible in old age. While the number of potential future life options may decrease, one's own past and the richness of the stories one has to tell become greater and more diverse. The construction of one's own past, present, and future determines whether one looks back on their biography with bitterness and resignation or with feelings of joy and satisfaction. Therapy and counseling can then help to gain strength for the upcoming life tasks, leading to a good and dignified conclusion.
