In the same year, he was shortlisted with Orz in the 81st Newcomer Competition of the Weekly Shonen Magazine and made his debut in the Magazine Special with a first completed story. Since October 2010, Attack on Titan has been running as a series in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. In 2011, Isayama won the 35th Kodansha Manga Award in the Shonen category for Attack on Titan.
