Since the establishment of the German, Austrian, and Swiss societies and networks for care and case management, a distinct scientific foundation for case management has been explicitly developed in the German-speaking world, aimed at equipping practice with the necessary knowledge. This book contributes to a systems-theoretical perspective on case management through case analyses. This approach allows for an adequate description and explanation of the problems to be solved in case management, ultimately leading to solutions using original methodological concepts. Additionally, the principles and benefits of a systems-theoretical perspective for case management are discussed—an aspect that can inspire new, unconventional, and innovative actions in (social) systems.
