The life of Catamount ("Wildcat") has been marked by violence and loss since early childhood. The Cheyenne attacked the caravan of colonists to which his parents belonged, and he only survived the massacre by sheer luck. As an orphan, Catamount comes into the care of the Osborne family, who find him on their journey west, give him his name, and raise him as their own son. Under the guidance of an old trapper, he develops into a capable rider and marksman—skills that serve him well when he unexpectedly encounters Black Possum, the leader of the Cheyenne who are responsible for his family's death. With his comic debut "Catamount," author and artist Benjamin Blasco-Martinez playfully demonstrates that he can hold his own against the seasoned veterans of historical comics.
