Product details
Dr. Bahrke and Dr. Nohr present in this book how psychotherapists and psychoanalysts can work with katathym imaginative psychotherapy (KIP) based on current psychodynamic insights. The method, introduced by Hanscarl Leuner in 1955 under the name "katathym images life," has been further developed since then as a method of psychodynamic psychotherapy. The authors illustrate the state of the art through case examples and provide a clear systematic presentation.
About the method: How does KIP work? The therapeutic practice is based on the incorporation of imaginations into the therapy process. Unconscious wishes, conflicts, their defenses, and the transference relationship are symbolically illustrated in this way. The imaginations initiated and guided by the therapist significantly enrich the psychodynamic understanding process.
