Parental involvement in a migration society should take into account that migration is a phenomenon associated with challenges for a collective. Depending on how patriotic or nationalistic a society is, the interaction with people from other countries and cultures can become more difficult. The inclusion of migrant parents in educational institutions, community work, and youth services in terms of parental involvement therefore has demanding tasks to tackle: immigrants should be increasingly engaged in daycare centers, kindergartens, and schools, especially since the educational success or social advancement they wish for their children heavily depends on their commitment to the current German school system. But how can such participation be ignited or sustainably increased?.
