Our greatest asset is our health. This statement, reiterated countless times in advertising and regularly confirmed by EMNID studies, becomes relevant again each time a person falls ill. Illness can deeply affect us, shaking our lives, our identity, and our future; perhaps nothing will be the same as it was before. When this sick person, with their individual concerns and personal views on health and illness—such as individual explanations of how and why the illness arose and how it can be healed—enters a hospital, they often encounter an institution whose processes and organization are not tailored to the individuality of each patient. This study has addressed the question.
