Many defendants in juvenile criminal proceedings are of non-German origin - a group that presents various challenges to criminal law practice. This work aims to sharpen the focus on a problem area that affects the practical everyday work of police, courts, and corrections, and which is often addressed in scientific discussions only in partial aspects, rather than in the full breadth of the juvenile criminal proceedings. From the living conditions of young non-Germans to the discussed approaches to the emergence of foreign crime, police registration, and the stages of juvenile criminal proceedings, as well as the interactions between juvenile criminal law and foreign law, the legal and criminological aspects of the topic are discussed. The work provides an overview of essential empirical findings while also considering different perspectives.
