Christian Lehnert's seventh poetry book once again attempts the utmost: starting from two-line reductions to the edge of silence, through sonnets, odes, and tercets, to multifaceted expansive poems, this poetry sends experimental probes into the unknown. The poet repeatedly immerses himself in a dictionary of natural phenomena. In it, the world and signature of snow and frost, moss and foliage open up to him. He transforms into language the spirits of feathers, fireflies, flies, and falcons. He later also understands the speech of spruces and beeches. Ultimately, it concerns human fate, both mythical and historically real subjects. Here, he connects polarities such as the Baal of Palmyra and the death experience of Colonel Lehnert in World War II. Lehnert's poetry draws from German mysticism. He inherits from Jacob Böhme and Angelus Silesius.
