Children in the queues at the borders, on the trains, in the initial reception centers - the distant events of flight have reached Germany at the latest since the summer of 2015. Who defends these children's right to help and a future? Professional social work has often remained silent so far and seems unable to cope with the scale of the refugee crisis. The author advocates for a rethinking in social work, which must draw on its traditions of committed assistance to help children on the run secure their rights.
