The thirteenth issue of the yearbook aims to promote the exchange of ideas across national borders through contributions from foreign children's and youth literature researchers: Nina Christensen is the new director of the Center for Children's Literature at the Danish Pedagogical University in Copenhagen and writes about the childhood images of Andersen's contemporaries. American Germanist Luke Springman, a specialist in the culture of the Weimar Republic, has long been connected to German children's and youth literature research. With the contribution from Stephanie Himmel, the field of Romance children's literature research, which is not very prominent in Germany, is also represented. The focus of the other contributions, primarily from younger colleagues in Germany and Switzerland, is on current youth culture, literature, and language. The newly introduced section 'Forum' offers discussion contributions on the question of the children's literary canon.
