The Chinese-German Learning Dictionary is now in its third edition and has become an indispensable reference work for all learners of the Chinese language due to its unique concept. It includes the basic and advanced vocabulary of modern Chinese (approximately 2000 characters / 4000 words). Words from the basic vocabulary are printed in bold. It uses the standard transcription system Hanyu Pinyin. The generous print leaves space for personal notes, allowing the dictionary to be expanded into an individual reference work. It contains a commented standard radical system, and characters are listed under multiple radicals where applicable. An additional radical index arranged by positional possibilities makes it easier to find the characters. Each word consisting of two characters can be found twice, that is, under each of its characters, allowing the entire semantic field of each character to be grasped at a glance.
