When someone new joins the class and is named Chlodwig, he has a tough time. If he also looks like this one, with his parted hair and shiny shoes, he can probably do math well, but not play soccer. The same goes for Chlodwig. The fact that the new kid sits right next to Bert, who until now has had a table to himself for good reasons, sets the story in motion. Bert has neither a hairstyle nor decent clothes. At his home, things are chaotic; there’s roughhousing, arguing, laughing, and sometimes the power gets shut off. When his parents have to travel, Chlodwig would rather stay with Bert than with his parents' friends, whose house is as big, quiet, and clean as his own. Bert is quite skeptical, and Chlodwig's parents are even more so. But Chlodwig has made up his mind: he’s moving into the chaos!.
