The artist and architect Christian Waldvogel (1971) represented Switzerland at the Architecture Biennale in Venice in 2004. Since then, he has made a name for himself in the international art scene with his idiosyncratic conceptual works. Realized in the media of photography, video, and digital image production, his sometimes spectacular installations address the Earth in the solar system and humanity in its living environment. Waldvogel develops true thought experiments, relying on scientifically validated data. For instance, he has been able to enlist representatives from NASA and the Swiss Air Force to collaborate on projects. This first monograph on Christian Waldvogel's work provides insight into his unusual, highly narrative world of images and ideas through the presentation of nine projects from the past six years, accompanied by texts for each project and an essay.
