Otherwise, as modern atomic science has determined, the preservation of his likeness in the shroud over two millennia would not have been possible. The image on the shroud is a photo-negative, which was only recognized 100 years ago when Secondo Pia photographed it and was the first person to see the face of Christ on the shroud in positive form.
