Product details
Jakob Flach (1894-1982) is the prominent figure of the Swiss literary scene who chose to live outside conventional society: a bohemian and artist, a hermit and globetrotter, a writer and puppeteer. In 1937, he founded a puppet theater in Ascona with fellow artists, which he successfully led for over twenty years. In addition, he published books featuring his collected travel stories, including "Minestra" (1937), "Vita Vagorum" (1945), and "Brautfahrt ohne Ende" (1959). "On the Art of Walking" is Jakob Flach's guide to the vita beata, to a happy life. The walker knows the small joys of everyday life and can recount them. In simple, rhapsodic language, the author narrates his journeys into the unknown, his wanderlust and adventures, the lives of artists and vagabonds, the pleasures of idleness, and a carefree existence. His shields are present throughout.
