The whole world is talking about crisis. Now there's even a crisis of democracy? Is democracy part of the solution or part of the problem? Are the political processes themselves faltering, or are they suffering from external influences from the economy and society? Is our democracy capable of reform? Does it have a future? In its ideal form, democracy is our hope for overcoming all the other crises in which our society finds itself. The ideal and reality of our democracy create a tension and sometimes diverge. They are even meant to. But we must have the opportunity to realize our ideals to some extent. Otherwise, we will lose faith in them. Therefore, it is important to critically analyze reality on one hand, and on the other hand, to explore the potential for improvement. Analysis and reform possibilities are thus the two dimensions in which this anthology operates.
