Product details

The era of sun lamps ended in 1975. Innovative tanning beds replaced the ultraviolet lamps known under this brand name in the market for electrical consumer goods. The electrical industry had marketed sun lamps for self-irradiation to private individuals since the 1920s. Such light showers were used for the production of modern performance and consumer bodies. Unlike the new tanning beds, the older ultraviolet lamps were not simply about beautifying the body. The medicine of the 20th century repeatedly presented light rays as powerful forces with an impact on human health. Before World War I, bulb-heated sweat boxes were popular remedies. After 1980, bright light became a therapeutic treatment for mental disorders. In between, the focus was on ultraviolet light.
