Equality officers or gender research centers at universities and colleges are the result of protracted struggles. This study analyzes a development triggered by the New Women's Movement, which led to the establishment of an equality infrastructure at the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich. The responsibility for this infrastructure gradually expanded until the female students, the original mobilizers, were no longer identifiable in the 1990s. The author examines what the university women's movement achieved and to what extent it was able to influence the institutional anchoring of its early formulated equality concerns. Additionally, there is an interest in the fundamental question of how the impacts and consequences of social movements can be captured, as well as the relationships that exist between their goals.
