In Rome, the unifying and dividing aspects of both Protestant and Catholic church history can be experienced in a condensed way. What may appear as heresy to one side is regarded by the other as a consistent development. This book makes the different perspectives more conscious. The Protestant buildings and viewpoints on Rome are rediscovered. To do this, the authors first follow the Protestant traces to Rome, describe the sights, and finally portray the most important aspects of Protestant Christianity in Rome. To name just a few examples from the book: the Pantheon, Michelangelo's Moses, the Non-Catholic Cemetery, and the Campo Santo Teutonico, as well as the Protestant churches.
