Based on field research in a Dutch university hospital, this title examines the daily diagnosis and treatment of atherosclerosis. It focuses on medical anthropology, sociology, feminist theory, philosophy, as well as science and technology studies, to re-examine topics such as the distinction between illness and disease, subject-object relationships, and boundaries.
