Forester Bodo is supposed to look after a pug named Rüdiger for a few days. Will that go well? After all, he doesn't really like dogs! But soon, Rüdiger, with his loyal eyes, wins the heart of the forester. Through his clumsy antics, he inspires Forester Bodo to come up with crazy stories about lively snails, musical party poopers, lovesick dung beetles, greedy little monsters, and peculiar unicorns. Rüdiger has the honor of being the first to listen to these stories by the cozy fireplace of the forester's lodge. But he is a clever pug. Such stories are supposed to actually happen in the woods? Unbelievable! Together, the two new friends set off into the wondrous world of the forest with a research backpack and plenty of curiosity. In the end, they are amazed to discover that no story can be crazy enough to describe what is really happening out there.
