Product details
At the end of the 15th century, when America was discovered, Nuremberg was already the most important city in Germany. The creativity and craftsmanship of the Nuremberg people were known throughout Europe, and the wealth of its merchants and the Nuremberg wit were legendary. Albrecht Dürer was the leading painter of the Renaissance, while Adam Kraft and Veit Stoss became immortal through their works. However, Nuremberg is much more than just castles and Dürer, romantic leaded glass windows, the Christkindlesmarkt, bratwurst, and gingerbread. The Franconian metropolis of Nuremberg is a vibrant large city, the second largest in Bavaria, and the center of the eponymous metropolitan region. The splendor of history is just one side of this unique city. Today, Nuremberg also confronts its unfortunate role during the Third Reich and is a globally respected city of human rights. This travel guide leads to the sights.
