Product details
Alexandra Drescher examines whether a company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) engagement influences the success of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) using the German capital market as a case study. She analyzes whether a company's management can better assess and manage the risks associated with M&A—currently key drivers for growth and sustainability—through CSR initiatives. Four indicators (society, employees, environment, performance) are used to evaluate corporate sustainability and its impact on M&A. While only the CSR sub-area of the environment shows a statistically significant positive correlation, this does not mean that a potential relationship between CSR and M&A success can be dismissed.
