Product details

The Costa Smeralda holiday resort in Sardinia is the result of the idea to economically develop an untouched region through a large-scale tourism project. It was planned and realized starting in 1961 by a consortium established for this purpose under Karim Aga Khan IV. A simple, nature-oriented vacation world emerged for an international circle of super-rich individuals, which also served as the backdrop for the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me" in 1976/77. This first monograph on the architecture of Costa Smeralda presents an extremely multifaceted picture of the project and its colorful protagonists. For the first time, significant source material has been examined for this book, and a multitude of images and plans of the founding buildings from the archive of architect Enzo Satta have been analyzed. This personal collection belongs to the long-time house architect of the current development.
