What strategies do drug consumers develop to minimize the damage resulting from consumption? Can methods be identified in the consumption behavior of those affected that aim to limit and regulate consumption? Can the identification and description of competencies among drug users contribute to the development of innovative services in drug assistance? The results of a quantitative online survey among consumers of smokable cocaine, along with additional qualitative interviews with users in the drug scenes where smokable cocaine is consumed, show that respondents possess a variety of competencies that can be effectively integrated into prevention, counseling, and treatment concepts in the field of drug and addiction support.
