Little is known about the Children of the Storm, a unique and possibly one of the most dangerous species the Federation has ever encountered. The Children of the Storm are incorporeal and traverse space in starships that apparently are powered solely by thought. They once managed to destroy thousands of Borg ships without firing a single conventional weapon. Captain Chakotay and Fleet Commander Afsarah Eden must uncover why three Federation starships were suddenly and mercilessly targeted by the Children of the Storm without provocation on their current mission to the Delta Quadrant. Thousands of lives within Starfleet are at stake against an enemy that the Federation is just beginning to understand.
