Rabbi Nachman is regarded, alongside the Baal Shem Tov, as the greatest spiritual master of European Jewish mysticism. Even during his lifetime, he was a legendary figure whose wisdom radiated throughout Eastern Europe. In his prayer book, he published his unique and very personal way of conversing with God.
