Fairy tales in which Spanish motifs (also found in other European fairy tales) interestingly blend with Moorish elements (which we perceive as oriental-exotic). Presented in a Spanish-German parallel print. The folk tales from the Spanish regions, researched and collected only in the 20th century, are, of course, a wonderful treasure trove for fairy tale readers. But they also provide highly interesting insights into the phenomenon of Spain: how Romance (or shared European) elements from antiquity and the early Middle Ages have been preserved; how Moorish, and perhaps even Jewish influences have manifested; how all of this has coexisted at times and blended at others: this can be exemplarily observed in the selected fairy tales here.
