The use of internet chat rooms and social networks like Facebook has become the most important form of communication for children and adolescents in cyberspace. Under conditions of complete physical anonymity, meaning without knowing who is actually behind these chat partners, participants can chat with others due to synchronous interaction without time delays. This lowers the threshold for malicious attacks and meanness towards others. It creates the ideal environment for cyberbullying. As a result, parents, teenagers, teachers, educators, psychologists, youth social workers, and street workers are faced with new challenges. They are confronted with the internet as a new crime scene for phenomena from everyday school life and the physical environment. This difficult task is often complicated by a lack of experience in this new area of problems.
