In almost every community aquarium, attractive representatives of these popular schooling fish can be found, known even outside the hobby. However, upon closer examination, they are more than just a decorative, lively element. There is a large number of tetras with very interesting social and reproductive behaviors, as well as parental care that is quite comparable to that of cichlids. This volume provides a detailed description of the conditions under which the species in question occurs, in order to give the caretaker reliable guidelines for their species-appropriate care in the aquarium. The information is based on many travels by the author to the native countries of these fish and years of experience in aquarium care.
