Fridolin Stier (1902-1981), a scholar of the Old Testament from Tübingen and a powerful translator, left his mark with his translations of Old and New Testament texts and paved the way for others. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of his death, Eleonore Beck and Martha Sonntag are reissuing Stier's translation of the book of Job.
